Underdog game: prizes!
This year's charity pro football underdog game is in the history books, and prize checks have gone out to our winners' chosen charities. They are:
First prize: Shoeshine Boy - $400 - LAFD Foundation Emergency Wildfire Fund
Second prize: Air - $125 - Sandy High School Boys' Golf Team
Third prize (tie): Annie B. - $50 - Toni's Kitchen, Montclair, N.J.
And there's still one $50 prize to go out. I haven't heard yet from Roger Goodell, who tied for third and has a $50 check coming to his favored eligible charity. I'm sure he's busy with the Super Bowl. Roger, please send me your designee at dogpdx24@gmail.com. (I'll update this post when the last prize goes out.)
Congrats to our winners. They made great picks, not only in the game but also in their charity designations. And thanks to everyone who played, winners all.
Will we do this again next season? Quite possibly. But ask me again in midsummer.
UPDATE, Saturday morning: Had a nice email exchange with Roger Goodell, and his $50 prize is going out today to Special Olympics Oregon. Nice going. Enjoy the Super Bowl, folks.
Congrats to the winners. When I played on v.1 of the blog, I think I came in second to last.
ReplyDeleteBut really, I'm just here because this seemed like the closest post to on-topic I could get to ask "can we at least acknowledge the Blazers are doing something exciting on the court these last couple of weeks?"
Who?
