Fast food, slow ride
They're talking about building an In-N-Out Burger joint off the south side of Airport Way just east of where I-205 goes over. Hoo boy. That popular California burger chain is notorious for causing traffic jams, and that part of town is already hellacious with the afternoon and early evening traffic trying to get over the bridge to the 'Couve. If you plan to grab an In-N-Out hockey puck during those hours on a weekday, you might want to eat something to tide you over before you get in your car to head over there.
It’s interesting that the Burger King and McDonald’s near that location don’t cause traffic jams.
ReplyDeleteThey are both much further to the east, and probably their menus are simpler and processes much quicker. I'm with Jack - InO burgers aren't worth the wait or money, just a bunch of hype.
DeleteTell me you haven't been to In-N-Out without telling me you haven't been to In-N-Out. McDonald's and Burger King have simpler menus? Haha! They are over-hyped, but I'd take their burgers any day over McDonald's and Burger King slop. Portland just hates chain restaurants no matter what form or style they provide. They would rather eat garbage out of a food truck and pay $15 for a burger that's identical to McDonald's and say it's the best because it's 'artisanal.'
DeleteIt’s really not. Interesting, I mean.
DeleteThe one they've got lined up on Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy will be the traffic apocalypse to top them all.
ReplyDeleteAren’t they the chain that is big in LA? I went there a few times with my brother when I was living down there. I don’t remember anything too great, but yeah, a notch above McDonalds & BK.
ReplyDeleteGourmet garbage is still garbage. That stuff makes me actually ill on the very rare times I partake.
ReplyDeleteIt's a hamburger and fries. Toughen up, for Chrissake.
DeleteIt’s not gourmet. LOL
DeleteIt’s just a decent fast food burger. Their prices are actually more reasonable than McDonalds.
