Last gasps

I voted yesterday, dropping off our ballots at the county elections office. Didn't see a cop. Did see a weird guy hanging around across the street from the ballot box for no apparent good reason.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the last-minute election porn came a-rollin' in. Not that it would have made any difference if these two doozies had shown up earlier.

Ha ha! As if.

It's almost over. At least the voting part. Heaven knows what we'll be dealing with in the counting. Light a candle.

  1. I like Hardesty giving a shoutout to "regular people". Always thought she was a bit constipated... Tasini must be a big fan of the communist manifesto.

    1. Me too. Unfortunately, the manifesto has been adopted be enough Portland voters to tip the scales.

    2. Paul: Has he ever thought of anyone but himself?
      Billie: Who does?
Paul: Millions of people, Billie. The whole history of the world is a story of a struggle between the selfish and the unselfish.
      Billie: I can hear you.
Paul: All that's bad around us is bred by selfishness. Sometimes selfishness can even get to be a - a cause, an organized force, even a government. And then it's called fascism.

  3. Yes...the counting. By a computer algorithm which will chop 'n' dice individual votes in a system that no one really understands. It was devised by progressives, so not to worry. Tons of nonprofits have made endorsements--also part of the plan. And soon we'll know which 25-percenters will have the future of the city in their $133K pockets.
Hell of a way to run a republic.

  4. Endorsed by Hardesty? Automatic NOPE! She’s nothing but a worthless lifetime politician that has zero to show for it. She’s a total loser.

  5. Wonder if she completed her ballot at the casino ?

  6. I love how he just threw in Public Broadband at the end. This was one of Sten's proposals 20+ years ago! The City is barely capable of meeting minimum requirements of running a city, but let's add some more to their plate. I hope they try it (PDX ex-pat alert), it would quickly become the most expensive "free broadband" in the country.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
