Your civic duty – heavy-duty edition

The local part of the voters' pamphlet arrived today, all 136 pages of it. I'm glad I've already done my homework on the races for the city and county offices; the only surprise in this volume of folly is five City of Portland ballot measures (all numbered started with 26-). But they're an easy call. They're all proposed by that awful charter commission that rammed a bizarre version of "rank choice" voting down our throats, along with only four council districts and three council members per district. If they're for it, I'm against it. I will be voting no on all five propositions. If things need to be fixed in the city charter, let some adults fix them later.

Here's a summary of my other recommendations. By all means, please do not throw up your hands and give up. Your frustration is what the bad guys want:

Multnomah County District 1:  Vadim Mozyrsky.

Multnomah County District 2:  (hold your nose) Sam Adams (who isn't in the pamphlet because he foolishly missed the deadline).

Portland mayor:  Rene Gonzalez 1; Keith Wilson 2; leave all the rest blank.

Portland District 1:  Terrence Hayes 1; Noah Ernst 2; Joe Allen 3; Doug Clove 4; leave all the rest blank.

Portland District 2:  Bob Simril 1; Mike Marshall 2; Reuben Berlin 3; leave all the rest blank.

Portland District 3:  Melodie Bierwagen 1; Kezia Wanner 2; Sandeep Bali 3; Philippe Knab 4; leave all the rest blank.

Portland District 4:  Bob Callahan 1; Eli Arnold 2; Ciatta Thomspon 3; leave all the rest blank.

Next up will be the statewide stuff, which I've been pretty distracted from. But on the local fronts, I think that's the deal.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
