Home 'dogs galore for Week 6

Over the weekend I thought I'd use to my own advantage all the savvy I've picked up running our charity pro football underdog game. I placed $1 bets on each of six games, my first bets on anything (except in a low-stakes card game) since the Super Bowl.

I lost all six. Which taught me a lesson.

Regular readers here know not to count on me for accurate predictions, about anything. Or when I do offer any, bet the opposite.

And so here's not a prediction but an observation: This week's slate of games is mighty interesting. Most of the home teams are underdogs!

8.5  CLEVELAND at Philadelphia

7  NEW ENGLAND vs. Houston

6.5  CAROLINA vs. Atlanta

6.5  WASHINGTON at Baltimore

5.5  ARIZONA at Green Bay

3.5  NEW ORLEANS vs. Tampa Bay

3.5  NEW YORK GIANTS vs. Cincinnati

3.5  SEATTLE vs. San Francisco (Thursday, 5:15 p.m. PDT)

3  DALLAS vs. Detroit

3  DENVER vs. Los Angeles Chargers

3  LAS VEGAS vs. Pittsburgh

2.5  NEW YORK JETS vs. Buffalo (Monday, pick still due 10:00 a.m. PDT Sunday)

2  JACKSONVILLE vs. Chicago (in London, Sunday, 6:30 a.m. PDT)

1.5  TENNESSEE vs. Indianapolis

Players, by now you know the drill. If you want the Thursday night or overseas 'dog, your pick must be in by kickoff time of that game. Otherwise, all picks are due at 10:00 a.m. PDT Sunday at dogpdx24@gmail.com.

Our most recent standings were posted here, and they are unchanged after the Monday night game. May our players have better luck this week on behalf of their charities than I did last week in vain pursuit of filthy lucre.
