  1. I have been agonizing over organizing a garage sale and I am not a local celebrity. I am almost at a point of just putting stuff in my driveway with a big sign that says "FREE".

    1. Does your neighborhood have a Buy Nothing facebook page? It’s a great way to get rid of stuff.

  2. In my youth, visiting garage/yard sales were my Saturday morning activity. I still have a few good things from those ventures. Probably about time to turn the page.

  3. It does not seem to be a thing anymore. At the Laurelhurst annual yard sale this Summer it was poorly attended and the pickins were slim. Giving stuff away on Buy Nothing is the new trend.

    1. We've had pretty good traffic so far. Seems about the same as our sales over the past ~20 years. We're going 'til 4:00 today, Sunday.

  4. My friend and I stopped by this morning and found some cool little items. You were on the porch changing CDs looking a little grumpy, so I didn’t want to bug you. I would have just said I’m a fan and asked you how you quickly we would end up in communist breadlines once Kamala sets price caps on groceries. Your wife was very nice.

    1. Me, Mr. Sunshine, looking grumpy? Just dazed from being awake on a Sunday morning.

  5. It seems Bidenomics has not only reduced work related traffic congestion it has also reduced restaurant waiting lines and garage sale activity.

  6. Freecycle.org is a great way to get rid of anything useful that just failed to find its buyer. It's astonishing how fast stuff goes, and sometimes you can find something for yourself when you go on there to post something to give away.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
