At it again?

Your BFF, until he isn't.

If the past few weeks have shown me anything, it's that there are quite a few horses' asses out there in the Democratic Party "leadership." And in the liberal press. Joining the former category is none other than former President Barack Obama, who's apparently reprising his role as the self-proclaimed kingmaker on America's blue side.

While nearly everybody else in the Dem ranks is rallying behind Vice President Kamala Harris, who has 100 days or less to sell herself to swing state voters as the sane alternative to Orange Caligula, Obama's nattering away about "process."
“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” Mr. Obama wrote in the post. “But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.”
Wow, in other words, not Harris. Okay, Mr. Former President, let's dither for another month and leave the candidate with that much less time to make the sale.

Obama's political boss pose comes just as it has become clearer than ever that Biden didn't run in 2016 not only because his son just died, but also because Obama was determined that it was the email lady's "turn." Which led, of course, to disaster.

You know what? B.O. did a great job as President, where he earned our admiration and respect, but his term was over a loooong time ago, and he has no business playing Don Corleone in this year's race, or in any race. If he's responsible for the debacle that was Hillary 2016, and even if he isn't, he and all his California money friends need to either get on the bandwagon or sit down.

UPDATE, Monday morning: As for the New York Times, here's from their overheated front page today. Check the headlines. They're stabbing the corpse, based on what some random old guy in Ohio thinks.

UPDATE, Thursday: Three days later, still nothing from Big O. What's the problem?

UPDATE, Friday: Finally.

  1. BO’s charm is a cover that makes his arrogance look like confidence

  2. He had to say that, in order to beat back the impression that a coronation is happening rather than a process. But there is a process, and it's been in the DNC rules for decades.

  3. I think Saint BO is severely overrated, especially as compared to Joe — very much a Kennedy-LBJ thing, where the people remember this glow around the young and pretty and ignore that the old and wizened actually got far more stuff done. “Obamacare” should actually be called “Pelosicare” — just about all his accomplishments were actually hers. BO is was a generational fluke talent, a freak of nature like a LeBron or Kobe, and that was enough to carry him to the top, but his actual ball skills as a team captain were quite poor. He had an incredible opportunity to reign in the banks and Wall St. and he simply gave away the store, lavishing huge sums on the banks and AGI that THEY USED TO PAY BONUSES TO THE BANKSTERS even as they pursued a huge wave of foreclosures against regular folks. That’s what led to the Trumpscam … the Obama tone-deafness about righting the ship meaning “save the first-class passengers.” I like BO more than it sounds, but for results, go with Joe and Nancy every time, not BO.

    1. I was greatly disappointed in Obama’s 8 yrs. There was so much “hope and change” he promised. I was so excited to have this man in the White House. I believed good things for people who weren’t rich were going to come from his presidency. The second term he should’ve just kicked the republican’s ass and pushed through as much legislation as humanly possible in accordance with his promises. Why not? What did he have to lose? Look who got elected next, anyway.

  4. The random guy in Ohio (or wherever) bit has become really irritating. Sure, journalism can fairly include a "man on the street" perspective if there's space or time AFTER the actual news and qualified punditry, but to make the comments of some inarticulate, marginally informed rando the meat of the story is insulting. Stop wasting my time and get off my lawn . . .

  5. I liked him as President and he showed real class in treating Trump as the elected new President and followed protocol (though the total look of disgust on Michelle countered it). Now though I am finding him a bit of a pain.

  6. Obama is another slick snake oil phony- kind of like the rest of them. How the hell do you get a Nobel peace prize seconds after being inaugurated? Then that peace lover keeps us in Afghanistan for his whole two terms, runs a coup in Ukraine, and does nothing to investigate the illegal invasion of Iraq.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
