Ten players on the board (so far) in Underdog Week 1
The first weekend of the pro football season provided ample chills and thrills, and thank goodness, as far as I can tell, nobody got killed. Ten players in our charity underdog game picked victorious pooches, setting our first standings as follows:

Meow sports an asterisk by virtue of still having a 'dog in the hunt: The Jets play tonight for 2½ points. Let's hope they don't trip over any of the carcasses of the Giants, who took a beating at home yesterday.
If you missed the Week 1 action, you can still join the game this week. As you can see, fewer than half the players would be ahead of you, and there are 20 (count 'em, 20) weeks to go before our top three 'dognosticators are decided.
Meanwhile, players who have not yet sent in your entry fee, and you know who you are: Do it today. If you need a reminder of how and where to pay up, send me an email at dogpdx23@gmail.com. The pay-up deadline is Wednesday.
I'll update this post after tonight's game, and new lines will be posted on the blog tomorrow.
UPDATE, Monday night: The Jets win in overtime, and so Meow moves into a tie for ninth place with 2.5 points. Everybody else shown as tied for 11th? Well, now they're tied for 12th. Ah, but the season is young.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
