Mental health alert

Portlanders, if you want a brief glimpse of the shining city that used to be, get in a car and drive on I-405 between the Fremont Bridge and the Vista Tunnel. The rose bushes along there are all in bloom, the garbage is minimal at the moment, and there's only one tent bum (under an overpass on the northbound side) present to mar the scene.

It's supposed to rain this weekend, which will wreck the blooms, and so now's your chance.

For a while there, somebody did a good job running the place. Their handiwork is still a thing to behold. Happy motoring.

  1. I love the freeway roses! And the cherry trees too. It used to be a nice little city.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
