The Thurs-dog goes glam

I remember when Ed Whelan used to do the weekend sports on TV here in Portland. He's the one who'd call the pro football players the "big daddies," give out "burnt biscuit awards," and every week designate one NFL game as "your crummy game of the week."

I don't know what he'd think of this evening's pro gridiron contest, but it starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT, which is coming right up. Players in our charity pro football underdog game, if you want Tampa Bay this week (for 1.5), that's the deadline for your pick.

UPDATE, that evening: Not surprisingly, no one picked this game.
