Ciudad muy peligrosa
The weekend is almost upon us, and here in Portland, I think it's the start of Rose Festival. I gave up on Rose Festival quite a while ago. But maybe it will come back refreshed after the Covid pause. It could use a little sprucing up.
More importantly, let's hope the rain keeps the violence down. Last weekend the shootings were off the charts, and with the cops so busy photographing bullet casings on the asphalt (which is what they mostly do now), all the other criminals were free to do their things, too. I was particularly saddened to read this story of what's been happening to the merchants on Northwest 23rd Avenue. They're afraid for their lives.
Anyway, my fingers are crossed for a soggy, relatively peaceful couple of days.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
