Grab a Guinness while you can
Kell's Irish Pub in downtown Portland is about to go the way of the Lotus Card Room and the VQ. It's for sale, here, and the building is to be "delivered vacant upon sale." Whatever goes in there, the soul will almost certainly be gone.
Indeed, given the way the City Council has adopted an open hostility toward historic preservation, don't be too surprised if the entire building isn't knocked down before too long. "Equity" will no doubt be among the reasons given.
