Three 'dog weekend
Whew. Today's action in American pro football was crazily dramatic. One of the day's two underdogs prevailed, just barely. The other lost, in overtime. With those results, and both 'dog victories yesterday, the standings in our charity prediction game stayed fairly stable, but there are just 5 points separating third place from sixth:
Last week rank | This week rank | Player | Point total |
1 | 1 | Mad Dog | 63 |
2 | 2 | Meow | 59.5 |
3 | 3 | Eric | 59 |
4 | 4 | No Chance in Hell | 57 |
7 | 5 | Buster Douglas | 55 |
4 | 6 | DB | 54 |
6 | 7 | Micah | 52 |
8 | 8 | Mojo | 47 |
9 | 9 | JC | 44.5 |
9 | 9 | pdxTrojan | 44.5 |
12 | 11 | PDXileinOmaha | 44 |
13 | 12 | Evil O | 41 |
11 | 13 | Gordon | 40 |
14 | 14 | TJ | 36.5 |
17 | 15 | CrimsonCrud | 29.5 |
16 | 16 | SteveO | 28 |
15 | 17 | Kosar19 | 26.5 |
18 | 18 | Bad Picker | 26 |
19 | 19 | Paul | 19.5 |
20 | 20 | Drew | 14.5 |
21 | 21 | Annie B. | 6.5 |
We'll have one more week, with just two games. If both favorites win, these standings will be final. As they will be in the unlikely event that everyone picks the same 'dog in the last week. But there are many other possible scenarios, which will become clearer when we post the lines on Tuesday. Our top three finishers will designate a total of $440 to their favorite eligible charities a week from tomorrow.
Players, rest up after this incredible day.
UPDATE, later Sunday night: One other thought. I sure hope it doesn't happen, but if either of next week's games is a pick-'em, we're done.
