Cold and lonely in the deep, dark night

Last spring I wrote a few words to mark the passing of Jim Steinman, the guy who wrote spectacular songs for a spectaculat singer, Meat Loaf. Yesterday, Meat Loaf left us, too. He was 74 years old.

I said what I needed to say about their collaboration, which was nothing short of stunning, when Steinman died. Condolences now to the big guy and his loved ones.

  1. I saw him perform in 1989 at Rockefellers in Houston. Walking up to the venue we passed his tour bus. He was sitting on the lower step eating dinner out of a styrofoam to go container before the show.

He performed the entire Bat Out of Hell album and was terrific! Still on of my most memorable concerts.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
