Beyond the brink
I remember when Covid first arrived in America. The thing we tried the hardest to avoid was overwhelmed hospitals and morgues. Some parts of the country did better than others on that front. Oregon was super-cautious, and it did quite well.
But obviously, those days are over. They're calling in the refrigerator trucks for makeshift morgues in various parts of Oregon this week. Tillamook. Brookings. And now Salem.
Everything's still open, though. Laugh it up inside the local bar – no mask needed when drinking. Back to in-person grammar school next, too.
It's insane. Human life is so cheap.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
