Would you like bullets with that?
Man, you know it's bad when the fast food joints start closing up because the employees are afraid for their lives. But that's Portland these days. Today we learn that it's lights out for the Burgerville where Powell meets 205.
The old money keeps clucking about how bad it is downtown, but it's worse elsewhere. Always has been.
Just another scene in the profound tragedy that is lawless Wheelerville. Go by streetcar! Go by aerial tram! Bike share, everybody!
Not the first business to close because of the vagrant and it won't be the last.
ReplyDeleteThis one ain't just about the vagrants.
DeleteAnd the union is upset because they were not informed about this and were not in on the decision to temporarily close this location. So now these burger flipping union members think that they have some kind of say over a business decision made by the company that they work for? Not to belittle them as I did more than my share of restaurant work when I was younger. But even I understood back then (in my stoned haze) that I was expendable. Just unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the union ever even got an actual contract with B'ville. Labor law ain't what it used to be.
DeleteLook at the bright side. Now you don't have to request your burger to be running with blood...
