Meeting of the (bureaucratic) minds
When Covid started, I signed up for email alerts from the Oregon health department so that I could see the daily case numbers. But the list I was put on gets me all sorts of other notices from the health authorities as well. Some of these are scarier than a Covid spike, in that they show the levels of absurdity to which the bureacrats in Salem can sink. The whole state is crazy, really, but the government employees really crystallize the lunacy.
Here's an important notice I got today:
Ah yes, the old SHCCGTIC. By the time they say the name of the committee, the meeting will be half over. Notice, too, the important agenda item: "Successor Committee Planning." Tick tock, it don't stop.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
