From Down Under to the top of the world
Top-seeded Ash Barty of Australia won the women's title at Wimbledon yesterday in three sets. She was serving for the trophy in the second set, but faltered and lost the ensuing tiebreaker to Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic. Barty won the final set, 6-3.
The royals sent some of their heavier hitters to eat the good strawberries and cheer on the women.
Today the Lawn Tennis Club hands out the men's prize. It's Novak Djokovic versus Mario Berrettini in the best of five sets. If the Djoker wins, as expected, it will be his 20th major title, tying him with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for that achievement, and his third straight Grand Slam win. Novak has won at Wimbledon five times before.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
