The day the music dies
I understand that today's the day when it becomes crystal clear that there is not going to be any federal voting rights legislation. The Democrats just don't have the votes in the Senate to do the right thing. Biden seems to be washing his hands of it now. Oregon's U.S. senator, Jeff Merkley, was quoted overnight as calling the situation "very, very, very bleak," and "policy and political Armageddon.”
It's not a good feeling, but we 'd better get used to it. The same thing is going to happen on issue after issue, especially taxes, over the next 16 months. Then it gets worse.
I sure hope Justice Breyer is paying attention.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
