A long nightmare worsens
Last year, when it first began to sink in how bad the coronavirus pandemic would get, one of my first thoughts was, "Can you imagine what this is going to do in a place like India?" As social distancing became a thing around here, it was clear that it wouldn't work in that country, where personal space is an unaffordable luxury. India has four times the population of the United States in one third the land mass.
It took a while, but now the worst has hit. The stories and the images from the cities of India this week are horrifying. We bellyache a lot in this country, but thank God we're not over there right now. If you pray, they could use some. And money, too, if you've got it and can figure out how to get it there.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
