Governor Killer Kate is popping up today showing off how some public schools in the state are sort-of half-open. Given the limited activity at the schools, you have to wonder how much relief the eased restrictions are actually providing to beleaguered parents. Then compare that with the angst of the unvaccinated grocery store workers who are stil having God-knows-what breathed on them, 40 hours a week, after a year.
Anyway, rather than let the politicians tell you when the crisis over, it's good to watch the numbers. As I mentioned last week, we're doing well compared with late fall and early winter. But if you look at the new case figures, we're no better off than we were four weeks ago. In fact, Multnomah and Clackamas County case numbers are up for the month. The virus is still very much around.
At least the numbers of really sick folks are still dropping over the course of the month.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
