We wrote back in October about a giant sequoia near here that has had a pair of next-door neighbors at odds. Well, that argument is now effectively over, because somebody has surreptitiously poisoned the tree.

The property owners who have been fighting to save the tree told KOIN 6 News they recently discovered five holes drilled about 12 inches deep into the tree’s trunk. Claire Bollinger said a toxicology report concluded the tree was poisoned.

Gee, I wonder who could have done that? I don't think we need Sherlock Holmes on this one, folks.
