Mr. Skin, we know where you been
Here's a scary story about the biker convention in Sturgis, S.D. It points out all the different parts of the country from which the bikers hailed – all of which may now see an uptick in coronavirus infections, because bikers don't follow any stinkin' rules.
To me, the scariest part of the story is that there's a private company out there that has already got the harvested cell phone data showing where everybody came from. An outfit called "Safegraph." It looks like they're the people who track your walking patterns in the grocery store. Such sweethearts.
Supposedly the data is "anonymized," but you wonder, if push came to shove, what they could find out. Certainly your cell phone company knows all, and if the government swears out a warrant, I guess they know, too.
It's amazing how little we got in exchange for our privacy. Facebook at your fingertips, 24/7!
Anyway, the map accompanying the Sturgis story shows no bikers from California or Arizona. That can't be right, and so why are those states not represented? Are those states' laws keeping the data away from the private, ahem, "research firm"? If so, Governor Kate, I want some of that.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
