The next best thing
The other day I bemoaned the fact that there's no Blues Festival in Portland this year. But I just got wind of some welcome news: KBOO radio, which always live-broadcasts the proceedings, is going to replay some past year's performances all afternoon Saturday and Sunday.
Including Howard Tate, God bless him, doing the gospel hour on Sunday. I was so happy to be there in '02 for that one. Linda Hornbuckle was on the stage, too. Anyway, here's the lineup, as best I can tell:
In this day and age, you don't need to be in Portland and you don't need a radio to catch these sounds. It's stream-able! So go for it, wherever you may be, whenever you're in the mood this weekend.

The platform used for this blog is awfully wonky when it comes to comments. It may work for you, it may not. It's a Google thing, and beyond my control. Apologies if you can't get through. You can email me a comment at jackbogsblog@comcast.net, and if it's appropriate, I can post it here for you.
